Ceremony for Taking Refuge and Precepts 2025-2026

On February 1, Hae Su Zen Center joyfully welcomed 35 Zen students of the “Cheong (Clear) Generation” as they took refuge in the Three Jewels and received the Five Precepts.
Particularly touching is the fact that among this new generation are family members, including father/daughter, couples, as well as mother/son and daughter. Having family members as Dharma friends is something worth celebrating.
After lunch, our sunims and students from the Ukraine, Russia, the US, France, Singapore, Malaysia, Macao and Hong Kong gathered to share the joy they experienced during the Kyol Che. The day ended with words of encouragement and reminders from Zen Master Dae Kwan and Bon Sun Sunim JDPS: the key to practice lies in the cultivation of virtue and the making of a clear vow. With these, we can transform delusions and karma into nutrients for growth.
