Tsz Shan Monastery Youth Volunteer Meditation Workshop
A group of 30 youth outreach volunteers from Tsz Shan Monastery participated in a two-day meditation workshop at Hae Su Zen Center on Jan 25th to 26th.
Coinciding with the Buddha’s Enlightenment Day on Jan 26th — the day that the Buddha attained enlightenment upon seeing a morning star, on the night of 25th, Sifu and Bon Sun Sunim JDPS led the volunteers in walking, sitting and lying meditation. Everyone settled their body and mind under the starry night sky, gently bringing their thoughts back to the present moment.
The next day, accompanied by the sunshine and the gentle breeze, the group journeyed along the Luk Wu Ancient Trail to Ngong Ping, and chanted the Heart Sutra in front of the Big Buddha.
As the saying goes, “affliction is Bodhi”. Amidst these verdant mountains, participants put down their worries and attachment to self, becoming one with the pure nature. This is the manifestation of true self, attainment into prajna wisdom.
